I was wondering if you could pay taxes with a credit card so I Googled "pay taxes with a credit card" and found out on the IRS website that yes, Virginia, you can pay taxes with a credit card.They list all the service providers that generally accept American Express® Card, Discover® Card, MasterCard®, or Visa® card as noted.
And that IRS website tells you not only how to pay taxes with a credit card online, but also by phone.
I like to break even on my taxes, because they say if you're getting a hefty refund, you're loaning the IRS too much money each year that could be better used to pay off high interest debt and such.
But just in case I don't break even and end up owing, it's nice to know I could pay by credit card online or by phone if I want to.
